Search Associates and Queen’s University Host First Collaborative Educators Job Fair February 2024
The Toronto Search Fair was held at the Marriott Eaton Centre and showcased hundreds of global teaching opportunities at top international schools. Search Associates’ partnership with Queen’s University set a new benchmark for teacher career fairs in the Canadian educational sector.
The fair attracted a high calibre of schools from across the globe and highly qualified candidates from across Canada and a few from the US.
The fair connected 40 recruiters from 25 top international schools offering over 300 career prospects to more than 80 candidates. The intimate atmosphere of this boutique fair allowed for a high level of engagement, leading to approximately 200 interviews and a multitude of job offers extended – a testament to the fair’s effectiveness in connecting top-tier educational institutions and exceptional talent. Many candidates received multiple offers. Candidates are heading to exciting locations in Thailand, China, Turkiye, Germany, Kuwait, Singapore, Kazakhstan and Mexico.
From navigating job offers to making impactful career decisions, the fair provided a comprehensive support system, ensuring candidates were well-equipped to make choices aligned with their professional aspirations.
The fair boasted a lineup of workshops designed to empower candidates with knowledge and insights about teaching overseas, including “Interview Tips for Success,” “Considering Job Offers,” and “Introduction to the IB”. There was also a workshop on Canadian non-residency tax issues from our sponsor, Arun (Ernie) Nagratha, from Trowbridge Professional Corp and a presentation from our special guest, Francesca Lanning from United World Schools (UWS). Search Associates has supported UWS since 2017, in its mission to provide quality, inclusive education in the most remote and marginalized communities around the world.
